1. Welcome
Argent Wallet Ltd., doing business as "Argent", develops self-custody products which allow users to manage digital assets ("Argent Products").
Argent makes available digital asset products including the Argent App and related wallet experiences. Each product may hold separate digital assets and may not be interchangeable unless expressly stated in the product interface.
These Terms of Service apply to your use of the Argent App. Any card, payment, device payment service, crypto platform, decentralized application or third-party integration may be provided under separate terms by its provider.
2. Your relationship with us
This document and any documents referred to within it (collectively, the "Terms of Service") set out the terms of your relationship with us. Please read and understand them before using the Argent App.
By using or accessing the Argent App, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Argent App.
The Argent App is for non-commercial use only and may be used only for your own personal use.
3. Information about us
Argent Wallet Ltd. operates Argent. Our registered contact email for legal notices is legal@argentwallet.org.
If you would like to contact us, please use the contact details at the end of these Terms of Service.
4. Information about you
Your privacy is important to us. Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use and share information about you.
5. Important warnings about the Argent App
The Argent App allows you to manage digital assets. As self-custody products are non-custodial, you manage digital assets through the Argent App at your own risk.
Completion of transactions depends on the availability and operation of the relevant network. Network issues may cause transactions to fail or become unavailable. Argent is not responsible for errors or losses caused by network issues or failed transactions.
Argent is not authorised to conduct regulated activities by the Financial Conduct Authority in the UK or any other regulator. Digital assets managed through the Argent App are not covered by regulatory guarantees or compensation schemes.
To execute transactions you may need to pay network fees, which are set by the network and can fluctuate. Transactions may fail if a network fee is too low, and you may still be liable for part of the network fee even if a transaction fails.
The Argent App may change over time. Once we have made changes, your continued use will show that you accept them. You are always free to stop using the Argent App.
Declining changes or updates may expose the Argent App to increased security risk and may prevent access to new or upgraded functionality.
The Argent App may allow you to access distributed applications, cryptoasset platforms, payment services or other third-party services. These are provided by third parties and are not governed by these Terms. Check their terms before using them.
Not all networks, platforms, wallets or digital assets are compatible. You are responsible for checking compatibility before initiating transactions. Digital assets sent to incompatible addresses may not be recoverable.
The digital assets you manage may be at risk if the security of your device is compromised. Keep your device, operating system, credentials and recovery information secure. Do not use the Argent App on a jailbroken, rooted or otherwise compromised device.
You must be 18 years or older and capable in your country of residence of entering into a legally binding agreement to use the Argent App.
Any payment card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or similar device payment service is provided by third parties under their own terms. Argent is not responsible for those services or any losses connected with them.
Some features may display or provide access to decentralized protocols, including trading, staking or lending features. Participation involves significant risk, including potential loss of funds. Nothing in the Argent App constitutes financial, legal or tax advice.
6. Important information about recovery
For security reasons, if you initiate recovery of access to digital assets, such as after changing or losing a mobile device, you may be unable to access digital assets for a minimum security period. We are not responsible for losses caused by inability to access assets during that period.
If you change or lose your device, you may regain access using supported recovery methods, which may include encrypted recovery keys, cloud backup, nominated guardians, devices, persons or third-party services.
You are responsible for keeping recovery information, cloud accounts, devices, email accounts and authentication credentials secure. Unauthorised access may compromise your assets, and loss of recovery information may prevent recovery.
Guardians or recovery services are an important part of account security. You should appoint only individuals, devices or services you trust and can contact if needed.
If Argent provides automated guardian or recovery functionality, you must keep your email, mobile device and authentication methods secure. Security periods may apply before access can be unlocked or recovered.
7. Your right to use the Argent App
The materials and content comprising the Argent App belong to us or our licensors. We give you permission to use them solely for using the Argent App in accordance with these Terms.
Your right to use the Argent App is personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and may not be given to another person.
Unless permitted by these Terms or by product functionality, you agree not to copy, sell, make available, modify, reverse engineer or access code of any part of the Argent App that we have not expressly published for general use.
All confidential information, copyright and other intellectual property rights in the Argent App belong to us or our licensors.
8. Fees
If you initiate a transaction through a third-party crypto platform or other integration, we may charge a fee ("Argent Fee").
Any Argent Fee will be payable when you initiate the relevant transaction. If you decline to pay, or have insufficient assets to pay the fee and transaction value, we may decline to process the transaction.
We may offer features or tiers on a subscription basis. Fees, duration and renewal details will be shown in the Argent App at purchase. Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions may renew automatically until disabled in settings.
Unless required by applicable law, fees paid for subscription plans are non-refundable. Removing the app from your device does not cancel a subscription or waive auto-renewal.
9. App store provisions
These Terms are between you and us only and do not apply to your relationship with Apple, Google or any other app store or distribution platform provider.
We, not the store provider, are responsible for the performance of the Argent App, content made available through it and any support or maintenance we provide.
Store providers may be third-party beneficiaries of these Terms where applicable and may have the right to enforce relevant provisions against you.
If the Argent App allows Apple Pay, Google Pay or similar services, your use of those services is subject to the applicable provider's terms. Argent is not responsible for their operation, failures, declined transactions, security issues or data handling.
10. Rules of Acceptable Use
When using the Argent App, you must not circumvent security features, permit unauthorised use, use the product after suspension, or engage in illegal or unlawful conduct, including fraud, money laundering, sanctions breaches or conduct causing damage or injury.
We may monitor activity to ensure compliance with these Rules of Acceptable Use and to help ensure digital assets are not connected to illegal funds.
Failure to comply may result in temporary or permanent withdrawal of access, warnings, legal action, disclosure to law enforcement or any other action we reasonably deem appropriate.
11. Ending our relationship
If you do not agree with these Terms or any changes, you must stop using the Argent App.
You may cease using the Argent App at any time by removing it from your device.
We may withdraw the Argent App with reasonable notice where practicable. If your use ends or the product is withdrawn, you lose the right to use the Argent App, but this does not affect rights in digital assets you manage.
Termination does not affect obligations to pay sums due to us or any legal rights you may have under applicable law.
12. Our liability/responsibility to you
We do our best to ensure the features and functionality of the Argent App are of a reasonably satisfactory standard. However, we do not own or produce third-party applications, services, networks or protocols and cannot be responsible for them.
Features requiring internet or third-party infrastructure may be unavailable due to maintenance, outages or technology issues. We cannot promise uninterrupted, delay-free, error-free or expectation-matching use.
We are not responsible for losses resulting from use of the Argent App, including failure or delay related to locking, unlocking, recovery or transaction approval.
We are not responsible for issues, losses or disputes arising from Apple Pay, Google Pay, device payment services, crypto platforms, protocols or other third-party integrations.
To the extent permitted by law, our responsibility for claims arising out of the Argent App will never exceed fees you paid us for the transaction or plan that caused the loss. This does not affect liability that cannot be excluded by law, including death or personal injury caused by negligence or fraud.
13. Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will be available on this page.
Changes may occur because of new features, changes in law or clarification of our position. We will try to give notice before changes become effective where reasonable, but some changes may need to take effect immediately.
14. Documents that apply to our relationship with you
The current version of the Terms of Service contains the terms and conditions that apply to our relationship with you, together with any documents expressly referenced in them, including our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy.
If part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the remainder will still apply. If you do not comply and we do not act immediately, this does not mean we have waived our rights.
15. Law
English law will apply to disputes and interpretation of these Terms. The courts of England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or related to your use of the Argent App.
This does not affect rights you may have under the law of your country of residence, including any right to bring a claim in local courts where applicable.
16. Contact, feedback and complaints
If you need to contact us about these Terms or any document mentioned in them, please email legal@argentwallet.org.
We value feedback and are interested in learning how to improve the Argent App. By providing feedback, you agree that we may use and allow others to use it without restriction and without payment to you.
If you contact us, we will treat any personal data you provide in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
